Uniform
The Scout Uniform:
The uniform makes the Scout troop visible as a force for good and creates a positive youth image in the community. Scouting is an action program, and wearing the uniform is an action that shows each Scout’s commitment to the aims and purposes of Scouting. The uniform gives the Scout identity in a world brotherhood of youth who believe in the same ideals. The uniform is practical attire for Scout activities and provides a way for Scouts to wear the badges that show what they have accomplished.

Troop 11 Uniform
Troop 11 Scouts should wear a Field Uniform Shirt with green shoulder loops and appropriate patches, Troop Neckerchief and Woggle, and a Scout Belt at all meetings and activities. Scouts also need a Scout Handbook, which they should bring to all meetings and activities.
The troop will provide each new scout a Troop Neckchief and Woggle at a crossover or a joining ceremony. Troop numerals, troop hat, and patrol patches are available from the troop. The field uniform shirt, handbook, and scout belt can be purchased at the local Scout Shop or online.
Troop 11 does not require “official” scout pants or shorts. Many of our scouts find similar olive green pants at local stores; Academy and Sam’s Club usually have some nice olive hiking pants that work great. Jeans are also acceptable.
The troop has an inventory of used uniforms that are available for scouts; just ask during one of our meetings if we have your size in the uniform closet.
Troop T-Shirt
Troop T-shirts are available in blue, red, and tan. We also will order specific summer camp T-shirt designs each year so that Troop 11 has a t-shirt color for each day of summer camp.
Order forms are available each spring before summer camp

Troop 11 Clothing, Uniform, Gear, and Equipment Recycling (CUGER) Program
Do you have an old uniform hanging in the closet, folded in the drawer, or crumpled up in the bottom of your closet? Are you advancing to the next level? Do you have gear you don’t use anymore? If so, you can now recycle your used scout uniforms, clothing and gear by donating it to the Troop 11 Clothing, Uniform, Gear and; Equipment Recycling (CUGER) Program!
In keeping with the scout value of thriftiness, Troop 11 will now have a clothing and equipment-recycling program. Reusing outgrown or unneeded clothing and equipment through the CUGER Program will help to keep the cost of scouting down. It is especially useful to new scouts.
If you have items to contribute to the program, please bring your clean, “gently used” clothing or equipment items to any scout meeting. Please donate only those items that are in good, usable condition. The scoutmasters or committee members will distribute these items to other Troop 11 scouts as needed.
We will collect:
- Adult and youth uniform shirts and troop t-shirts (if you want to keep any of your patches, please remove them)
- Adult and youth uniform pants and shorts, belts, socks, etc.
- Other styles of clothing useful for scouting events – cargo pants and shorts, zip-off pants, lightweight pants for backpacking trips, scout-themed t-shirts, etc.
- Hiking boots/shoes
- Camping equipment, such as tents, mess kits, canteens, flashlights, mosquito netting, sleeping bags, footlockers, backpacks, etc.
