Mission Lone Star High Adventure:

The high adventure program includes a Trip to NASA with Train Like an Astronaut Scuba Program, ATV Riding (14+), Zip Lining, High ropes course, COPE, Climbing, Shooting Sports, Aquatics, and Primitive Camping on the Loan Star TraIl.

COST

  • Total Cost $465.00 Scouts / $715 Youth High Adventure / $235.00 Adults
  • Additional T11 costs for travel, supplies, and t-shirts are $105.00 for both Scouts and Adults.
  • Scouts 13+ and First Class can choose the High Adventure Program instead of merit badges for an additional $250.
  • If you don’t bring your own, this camp charges approximately $25 for a cot rental.
Costs Breakdown is as follows:
  • Camp Fees $395.00 Scouts / $645 youth high adventure / $175.00 Adults.
  • Fuel for Trailer $ 10.00
  • Troop Summer Camp T-Shirts $60.00
  • Camp Supplies $15
Costs not included:
  • All Participants should Pack a Lunch on June 15th for the trip to camp
  • Trading Post Purchases at Camp (recommend $5-$10 per day spending)
  • Snacks at Rest Stops going and returning to camp. On the return trip, we will not stop for lunch but will stop at a Gas Station for Snacks
Payments

Six installments: each one $93 for Scouts, $143 Scout High Adventure, or $47 for Adults. Installment Due Dates:

  • February 1st
  • March 1st
  • April 1st
  • May 1st
  • June 1st

Payments are accepted in person at Troop Meetings or online (include note referencing summer camp payment)

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS:

The troop will travel to and from camp as a group, departing from Bethesda Baptist Church. 

Travel Agenda:
  • Sun Jun 15, 8:30 AM Depart from Bethesda Baptist Church
    • Lunch- Pack a Lunch to eat at rest stop on way to camp
    • Dinner- Provided at Camp
  • June 16-21: All meals and activities at Camp Strake
  • June 21: Packed and ready to go home.
    • Breakfast – Camp Strake
    • Snack – Scouts bring funds for a stop at a gas station

MERIT BADGE PROGRAM

In March we will share finalized list of merit badges for scout selection. Current list of merit badges https://shacbsa.org/summer-camp/. More information to come on medical forms for camp as well.

MEDICAL FORMS

Each participant must complete a BSA Medical Form Parts A/B/C including a physical. Medical forms due May 3, 2024.
